WWC Antiques Group Hosts Discussion: Influential Women in History - March 27, 2013

ANTIQUES GROUP OF THE WESTPORT WOMAN’S CLUB TO HOST DISCUSSION ON “ INFLUENTIAL WOMEN IN HISTORY”.  Rare Artifacts and Documents to Be Presented by John Reznikoff of University.

On Wednesday, March 27th at 10:00 am, the Antiques Group of the Westport Woman’s Club will host a discussion on Influential Women in History in conjunction with “History You Can Own,” a collection of historic documents and artifacts on display and for sale at the Westport location of Rockwell Art & Framing.

John Reznikoff will be the guest speaker and showcase various items related to influential women in history, such as a letter from Eleanor Roosevelt in which she defends her commitment to civil rights and a rare “Votes for Women” advertisement. Reznikoff, who owns University Archives, and fellow rare document expert Seth Kaller, owner of Seth Kaller Inc. in White Plains, partnered with Stephen Rockwell Desloge, owner of Rockwell Art & Framing, to start History You Can Own. Rockwell’s Westport, Connecticut gallery houses the “History You Can Own” collection and will host the discussion.

The meeting is free and open to the public, however, RSVPs are required as space is limited. Please call 203-227-4240 to reserve your spot. Refreshments will be served, promptly followed by the presentation. The Westport Woman’s Club, located at 44 Imperial Avenue, was organized in 1907 and is a non-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to volunteerism and fundraising to support the educational, charitable, cultural, and public health services in Westport and surrounding towns.

"History You Can Own" offers one-of-a kind authentic documents and artifacts to collectors of all types. From presidential documents, to rare books, to antique maps, to unique artifacts, its partnership with leading dealers such as John Reznikoff and Seth Kaller, has given them access to some of the most coveted items available for sale to the public today. Reznikoff and Kaller recently sold a portion of Lincoln’s final State of the Union Address, and last year Kaller handled the sale at auction of a rare Lincoln-signed copy of the Emancipation Proclamation that sold for $2.1 million.
