The Westport Woman’s Club invites you to celebrate Valentine’s Day with an evening of live entertainment. WWC’s Waiting in the Wings Cabaret is a celebration of emerging New York talent, showcasing young performers ranging from aspiring comedians and musicians to Broadway hopefuls in an intimate cabaret setting.
Love’s Funny is the debut of this series, an entertaining evening of sweet and silly love songs and comedy sketches with a Valentine’s Day twist. With the Waiting in the Wings series, the Westport Woman’s Club (WWC) provides both a performance outlet for up-and-comers and an opportunity for the community to see the stars of tomorrow up close and personal.
Join Love’s Funny host Kat Palardy, comedian and singer, as she leads an evening of entertainment featuring performances by singer, songwriter and jazz pianist Camille Harris with her Silly Band, singer/actor Andrew Keltz and Matt Simons, a singer, songwriter and saxophonist.
"We are really excited about WWC’s Waiting in the Wings Cabaret because of the good we can accomplish on so many fronts” says Mary Vickery, President of the Westport Woman’s Club. “Many rising stars are seeking opportunities to share their work in this difficult economy. The Club Room at the Westport Woman’s Club is an excellent venue that is often underutilized. We see this as a winning opportunity for the performers and the community as all proceeds from the series go to benefit our philanthropic programs. Lindsay Meck, our New York City-based Production Manager, is a fantastic resource with connections to performers who will make the event a success. We’re hoping people make a full evening of it – heading out to dinner before or after the show and enjoying some New York caliber entertainment."
Love’s Funny will be performed Saturday, February 12 at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM in The Club Room at the Westport Woman’s Club, 44 Imperial Avenue, Westport. Patron tickets are $40 and include a glass of wine/beverage and Munson’s Truffles. General tickets are $25. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
