The Westport Woman's Club Scholarship Committee awarded scholarships to Staples High School seniors at their June 3rd Scholarship Awards Ceremony.
The WWC scholarship awards, which totaled $20,000 this year, are based on academic achievement (no lower than 3.0 academic GPA), community service, extracurricular activities and financial need.
This year's recipients of named scholarships included Farrel Levenson (Emily B. Fuller Scholarship) – University of Pennsylvania; Kyle Degener (Lea Ruegg Scholarship) – Purdue; Cole Manley (Ina Bradley Scholarship) – Stanford; Nicole Brill (Most Active Member Scholarship, awarded in honor of Audrey Rabinowitz) – Bates.
Westport Woman’s Club general scholarships were awarded to Whitney Andrews – University of Connecticut; Courtney Garzone – Penn State; Danielle Judkins – Southern Connecticut; Sabrina Lee – Rutgers; Marykate Vanzant - Southern Connecticut.
The Connecticut Braille Association, which has a long association with the Westport Woman’s Club, shared in the ceremony to award their first scholarship in honor of Gina Davis to Brendon Field – University of Connecticut.
