The Garden Department of the Westport Woman’s Club, held May 2 on the grounds of the historic Sidney Watts Club House, gave club members and Westport residents the chance to add splashes of color to their spring and summer gardens while helping to raise funds to support the many philanthropic efforts of the WWC.
The sale featured a variety of annuals, hanging baskets and planters, plant stands and decorative pieces. Big thanks go out to Janette Duchnicki, event organizer, who was instrumental in coming up with the concept to feature annuals at the sale – a niche that no other organization has filled. Mary Lee Clayton, Garden Department Chairperson was delighted to share that the event grossed nearly $6,000. All net proceeds will support the WWC Community Service and Scholarship programs. Mary Lee adds “And kudos to everyone in the Garden Department who worked on it. Next year we will be bigger and better!”
